Kia ora! My name is Zoe Roberts (FishWitches on social media) and I'm an Auckland-based illustrator and background artist.
In 2022 I started my career in animation as a Background Artist for Mukpuddy LTD. working on titles such as Night Eyes, BadJelly and service work for Electric Kiwi. I worked in a small team where I learned the ins and outs of the TV animation pipeline.
In 2025 I worked as a background Lead for Princess Bento on a currently unnannounced project. My duties included providing feedback and direction to the background paint team, as well as ensuring quality and consistency throughout the production.
In addition to my work experience, I have over 10 years of experience in freelance illustration, from character illustration to Flash animations.
I love video games, cats, fitness, fashion and collecting little trinkets. I currently live and work in Auckland with my partner and our cat Plum.
